Upcoming Fleet Holding

Dyson spheres, coming to a Star Trek Online near you!

A new 5 man event has been added to the game in the Tribble test server. It's called Storming the Spire which involves a team of 5 players stopping Voth from stealing technology from the Dyson sphere. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to test it out yet, but the concept seems interesting.

For those of you who don't keep track of species and their quadrants, the Voth were encountered by Voyager in the Delta quadrant. Wait -- the Delta quadrant? Yes it seems like that is being added to the game soon, or at least a part of it.

The Dyson sphere, Voth, and a new fleet holding will all exist in the Delta quadrant. I'm really hoping that there will be an actual sector block and not just having us go directly to locations like they have done with the Gamma quadrant.

On to the fleet holding which is what I really want to talk about. We know that it will be a spire on the Dyson sphere, probably with a story behind it that all three factions are sharing ownership of the sphere. I think it's safe to assume that it will come fully loaded with tactical consoles since fleet science and engineering consoles have come with the embassy and dilithium mine respectively.

More duty officers and duty officer assignments are assured, but what I wonder is what will be special about it. The starbase was the first and most logical for a fleet. The embassy was a nice extension and offered some unique items (besides the consoles). The dilithium mine is by far the most unique since it reduces costs of projects and dilithium stores as well as provide fleets with a way to earn more dilithium.

What would you like to see with this new fleet holding? What do you think will be special about it? Unique items developed with new technology? Frankly I can't think of anything other than the usual.

Well, TBH, Fleet Tactical consoles are the thing that I'm waiting for!
For the rest of it, I'm with you, hoping it won't be just few missions and small part of space (at least they have so much material to work with) and that I won't visit it just once, or even worst, like Gamma quadrant you mentioned.

Agreed. Part of me believes that we'll have at least a small sector like the Pelia sector, because of the fleet holding. We need something to travel to in order to reach it.

But another part of me feels that they may just use a transwarp gate as the point for reaching the fleet spire.

Why is the dyson sphere going to be int he Delta quadrant? Wasn't there an ST;TNG episode involving a dyson sphere int he alpha/beta quadrants where Scotty was found in a transporter buffer?

Yup, but that's not the one being used in game. It's a completely different one. Whether or not it was made by the same race is something I don't know. I don't think we even know who made the one from TNG.

I share your concerns for the "Pillar of the Dyson's Sphere" Fleet Holdings. While it surely would be nice to have Fleet Tactical Consoles, I wonder what will be special about it. So far, the Dilithium Mine was the one Holding everyone wanted to finish ASAP for its immensive benefits both on Fleet and personal levels.
Maybe, the new Fleet Holding will grant us additional discounts on the Fleet level or maybe on the Reputation systems. Who knows. To be honest, I'd rather have a small Fleet Holding (just one facility Tier instead of two) and be done with it, so one can focus back on the Starbase.

Perhaps the possible fleet tac consoles will be dual type, e.g. 30% disruptor 10% quantum consoles
