Borg Battling Guide

Borg Briefing
Welcome Captain! As you know the Borg have been a threat to the galaxy for many years. We have dealt many devastating blows to them, but they keep coming back. You're here because its your turn to battle them. We've lost many good ships and crew to the Borg and we don't want to lose more. In this briefing you'll learn all you need to know about the Borg and how to battle them.

Ground Combat
Borg Adapted The Borg are slow to move but very dangerous. It is a good idea to constantly move while battling them. If a Borg gets too close there is a chance it will inject you with assimilation nanobots, and once that happens there is almost no cure. If you are assimilated you will turn into Borg and lose control. You will start attacking your allies and you can bet that they will attack you right back. So remember to keep your distance.

Something the Borg are famous for is their quickness to adapt. Since they have a collective consciousness they can learn quickly and come up with a way to resist. When using an energy weapon on the Borg they will adapt to the frequency and then activate a shield to block your weapons. It takes them about 3 or 4 shots before they adapt. In order to break through this shield you will need a Frequency Remodulator. This item can be replicated through your ship's replicator for free. Make sure you equip it for yourself and your entire away team. Without it you won't be able to defeat the Borg. The image to the right shows a Borg adapting to an energy weapon.

Let me give you some background information on the Frequency Remodulator. In order to use it you must stand still to recalibrate your weapon. If you are hit or if you move the weapon will not be remodulated. It takes four seconds to recalibrate your weapon so make sure you have a good distance between yourself and the Borg and maybe even take cover.

I also recommend carrying two weapons with different energy types. It takes a little while to remodulate your weapons and if you don't have enough time you can just switch to the other weapon. It is a good idea to have each away team member carry a weapon of a different energy type. If you are all using the same type then the Borg could adapt to all of your weapons.
