Operation Gamma Walkthrough

Location: Deep Space 9

INTRODUCTION
To begin this mission go to Deep Space 9 and start the mission. You will need to get to the Gamma Quadrant in order to speak with the Dominion and have them convince Loriss to leave Deep Space 9. You must be in a small craft in order to start this mission. You can switch to a small craft by visiting the Engineering Deck on your ship and speaking with the Operations Officer in the transporter room. You can also switch to a small craft at any space station.

FLYING BLIND

Once you reach DS9 you'll need to signal the fleet to engage the Jem'Hadar ships and distract them. After the Jem'Hadar ships have moved away from the station you can get close to it. Head towards the bottom of the station and disable Sensor Cluster Alpha. After you disable it a Worker Bee will try to repair it, so destroy the Worker Bee. Also defeat the Jem'Hadar ships that appear in order to continue.

From here on just keep disabling the Sensor Clusters at the bottom of the station, one at a time. Keep an eye out for Worker Bees that will repair them. Make sure you destroy the Worker Bee before it completes repairs. If repairs are complete you will need to start over. After you have disabled all the clusters, defeat the Jem'Hadar Attack Ship then use the wormhole.

SALVAGED RELATIONSHIPS

In the Gamma Quadrant you will need to find Farek. Her ship is not at the rendezvous when you exit the wormhole so go to the nearby nav beacon where your scanners will detect Farek's ship which is damaged. Warp to the next system to investigate.

Farek's ship will be inside an asteroid which is protected by a shield. Destroy the nearby shield generator to gain entrance. Once you are inside find the Krannel (Farek's ship) and hail it. You can go through all of the dialog if you want or choose the last option "What would you want for the Dominion information". She will ask you to gather materials for her in exchange for the information.

Engineering Objective
As an Engineer you will need to salvage four materials from the derelict ships. Leave the asteroid and find the derelect ships with your map. All derelect ships are inside the glowing yellow asteroids. In order to collect certain materials from them you'll need to perform different scans.

Once you find a ship, scan it. A progress bar will appear above the ship and tell you what material has been detected. Based on that you'll need to perform the scans below. You'll have a limited time to complete them.

If you perform the incorrect scans, Idran swarmers may attack but they are easy to destroy. An incorrect scan could also destroy the ship, but it will respawn.

  • To collect Bolomite use a Resonance Frequency Scan and then a Geologic Analysis.
  • To collect Cormaline use a Geologic Analysis and then a Micromographic Analysis.
  • To collect Iridium use a Micromographic Analysis and then a Particle Beam.
Science Mission
As a Science officer you will need to scan four spatial anomalies. Leave the asteroid and find the spatial anomalies with your map. All anomalies are in glowing blue asteroids. In order to collect particles from them, you'll need to perform different scans.

Once you find an anomaly, scan it. A progress bar will appear above the anomaly and tell you what type of particle it is. Based on that you'll need to perform the actions below. You'll have a limited time to complete them.

If you perform the incorrect action, Idran swarmers may attack but they are easy to destroy.

  • If it has Radiogenic Particles use an Active Polaron Scan and then a Polythermal Scan.
  • If it has Trianium Particles use a Polythermal Scan and then a Quantum Scan.
  • If it has Nucleogenic Partices use a Quantum Scan and then a High-Frequency Sweep.
Tactical Objective
As a Tactical officer you will need to disable four defense satellites. Leave the asteroid and find the defense satellites with your map. All defense satellites are in glowing red asteroids. In order to disable them, you'll need to perform different actions.

Once you find a satellite, deactivate it. A progress bar will appear above teh satellite and tell you what needs to be disabled. Based on that you'll need to perform the actions below. You'll have a limited time to complete them.

If you perform the incorrect action, Idran swarmers may attack but they are easy to destroy. An incorrect action could also destroy the satellite, but it will respawn.

  • If it is an Activate Satelite use a Quantum Scan and then Remove Ionic Power Core.
  • If it has Activate Sensors Remove Ionic Power Core and then Deactivate Sensor Batteries.
  • If it has an Active Enemy Detection Deactivate Sensor Batteries and then use a Magentic Wave Pulse.
Vorta

Once you have completed your career objective, return to Farek's ship. Remember, her ship is inside the asteroid that has the blue/white crystals around it in the center of the map. After a brief cutscene in which Farek leaves without helping you, you may exit the asteroid and defeat the 3 groups of Idran Swarmers that are attacking. You can then warp out and follow the Krannek.

When you find the Krannek it will be surrounded by Jem'Hadar ships and damaged. Approach them to see what is going on. The Dominion will hail you and ask you to destroy Farek and her ship in exchange for their help. Hail Farek, you will be faced with two options. The first is locking weapons on her ship, the second is opening a channel to her.

If you lock weapons on Farek you will have to destroy her ship. If you open a channel she'll ask you for help and you will let her go. It doesn't matter which option you choose because the mission ends the same way. Next, hail the Jem'Hadar ship and after a brief discussion the Vorta will make an agreement with you. Return the Founder who has been Starfleet's prisoner of war for 30 years, in exchange for their help with the force on DS9. You may now leave the Gamma Quadrant.
