1st Summer Event
Captain's Blog Stardate 91082.34
Summer is finally here and it's time to party! I'm really happy that Cryptic is doing a summer event similar to their winter one. All these events that are celebrated really make the game feel alive and gives us something to look forward to throughout the year. Of course more information about the summer event will be coming in a dev blog at some point in the future, but that won't stop me from speculating.
A few screenshots were released showing the map for this event. It'll be taking place on Risa, which is a great use of an existing map. I'm assuming that KDF players will have some sort of "transwarp" option to reach Risa, or perhaps Q will simply transport everyone there like he does for the winter event.
We do know that there will be a resort that we get to all visit. From the pictures I can say that Cryptic has done Risa justice. I'm not 100% sure, but it seems like the sun will rise and set on the map. In one screenshot it is sunny, in another one the sun is going down, and in the third it is night. It would be cool to be on a map where the daylight changes.
In one of the screenshots is an item that looks like a jetpack and the character is flying over the trees. Suffice it to say, I can't wait to do that haha. The actual name of this is a Grav-generator Glider (at least according to the screenshot's title). The animation for it reminds me of the way we move in our EV suits when we click on this beacons and fly over to them.
Probably the cream of the crop is this lovely Risian Corvette. I'm not going to lie, I'm hoping it looks like a resort inside hehehe. I'm very interested to see what they do with this ship. Risians are known for peace so I'm not sure why they would have a military craft, but at the same time I can't see what function this ship would serve if it wasn't military.
Based solely on the screenshots I can think of two events that we may see. One could be a dance contest and the other could be a Glider race. I look forward to finding out more about this event and all the fun prizes that will come along with it.

I've also been looking forward to this event since they announced it. I loved the Winter Event and love opportunities to unlock new clothing options.

They mentioned the ship is fast so I'm hoping it will have a huge boost for sector space speed; more than the borg engines.
