900 Days and Tholians
Captain's Blog Stardate 90105.88
How many people are almost at 900 days of playing? We have been given a few details about the 900 day veteran rewards and to be honest I'm not very impressed. The exclusive Federation uniform option is just a recoloring of the previous veteran uniform. The new ship material might be good. They really didn't show much in the blog post so I can't really say whether or not I like it. Finally, we get a free respec. Its a nice gesture and I don't mind having it, but it just feels like an easy way out for them. I was just hoping for something more unique, but I guess not.
Anyway, on to a better topic, did you see the screenshots for the Tholian ship? If not, here it is http://sto.perfectworld.com/news/?p=596771!! These ships look really nice. What it seems like to me is that they took the original designs of the Tholian ships and updated it for the 2409 era. I'm glad to see that Cryptic is trying to modernize everything in the game and show that time has progressed. Anyway, I can't wait to see the Tholian ship in action... and then blow it out of the sky haha!
So this week, let me know what you think about the 900 day veteran rewards and how excited you are about battling against the Tholians.

I wondered if you had already faced the Tholians on the 10 wave space battle on Tribble! (I think they are in the rotation, as someone mentioned it on the STO forums.)

The Tholians are definitely one of the enemies you face in "No Win Scenario". I frankly didn't pay much attention to their ships. I was too busy trying to blow them up and break out of one of their webs. Since then, I've been spending most of my time doing "Colony Invasion." It gives me the best Fleet Mark scores of any of the Tribble missions.

I was strongly hoping the new material was going to be a battle damage look... That would have been much cooler and more interesting.

I appreciate STO designers imagination and willingness to try new things, yet stay true to the original designs and inspirations of Star Trek. This is opposed to SWTOR, where everything looks EXACTLY like it did in the movies, as if no time had changed whatsoever, and everyone's been using the same style gear for 4000 years.
