April 2013 Ask Cryptic
Captain's Blog Stardate 90929.15
Normally after an Ask Cryptic I talk about the interesting questions that were asked and their answers. I have to be honest, I was disappointed with this week's Ask Cryptic. The majority of the questions were about the Legacy of Romulus expansion. I don't blame people for asking these, but I blame Cryptic for choosing to answer them.
I know that sounds rude, but hear me out. Cryptic is releasing tons of dev blogs with information about this expansion which answers most of these questions. Some of them have even been answered already. I really didn't see a purpose to this latest Ask Cryptic other than to repeat what they've already told us. In the interest of continuing with my tradition of summarizing the Ask Cryptics, I'll let you know some of the more interesting answers. Hopefully you'll find useful information.
For all the Foundry authors out there, the only information we have is that there will be Foundry updates in the future. Personally, I'm still looking forward to custom interiors. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. The same thing goes for PvP updates.
Something that I thought was a great idea is a special inventory for non-combat pets, both space and ground. As someone who collects all kinds of non-combat pets, I think this is a great idea. Frankly, I've always been a little surprised that we couldn't launch them from our bank.
The last thing I want to talk about, which isn't part of the Ask Cryptic, are warp cores. The Romulans have something called a singularity warp core and what's nice is that they give you additional abilities to use during battle. There are a total of 5 abilities that you can unlock, one for each tier of ships.
As always, I do suggest that you look over the latest Ask Cryptic, especially if you don't have access to the closed beta on Tribble. You may find something you didn't know before.

Damn, I always miss the Forum entries, where you can submit your questions. Is there a regular intervall for "Ask Cryptic"?
Personally, I find the introduction of Warp Cores and Quantum Singularity Core awesome. Not only is this canon, but it really offers you alternatives in Battle. However, I find that the Singularity Abilities come at a high price. Why? That's explained at the end of this Comment (ATTENTION SPOILER ALERT!). Also, I am pleased that the Ha'apax Advanced Warbird is the free Tier 5 Ship, we will getting. Regarding the Ship purchases, I really eager to read Cryptic's upcoming Blog about the Life-Time-Subscriber perks for Romulan Characters and I sincerely hope, they include the free T5 Ship Token (600 Day Reward) as we already know that there will be no 1000 Day-Ship just yet.
[SpoilerAlert]Their seem to be no Science-centered Ships for the Romulans yet. They all focus on either Tactical or Engineering. There is no Ship with a Cmdr. Science BOFF Slot. The highest I could find was one LCdr. Science BOFF Slot or LCdr. Universal BOFF Slot.[/SpoilerAlert]

I wonder how many more ppl will play now since they're adding romulams. Imo pvp can make or break a game, but hey it's Star Trek it might bring in more Trekkies for the RP aspect of it. I personally like pvp completely redone and more end game PvE then from there get nick picky adding more texture and detail to the game and 25th century universe and lore.
