Carrier Command & State of STOA
Captain's Blog Stardate 91159.18
The first thing I want to talk about is the new carrier command interface. I think it's about time that carriers got an update to improve the command of fighters. Something that's really great is how fighters earn ranks while battling. The longer they are alive the higher the rank, which improves their stats.
We can now see the life of each fighter as well which is probably one of the most requested features for carrier command. This definitely helps us to know when we should launch more fighters instead of spamming the launch ability. Thanks Cryptic for this update! It makes playing with a carrier more fun.
This week the State of the Game was released and we got a small glimpse on what's to come. Ever since adventure zones were released (New Romulus, Nukara, etc.) I've often wondered why we weren't getting a similar zone for space. Good news! We'll be getting one with Season 8, along with more end-game missions, a new fleet holding and reputation.
I have to be honest about something, I'm a bit concerned when it comes to fleet holdings and reputations. It seems like those are something easy for Cryptic to add to the game and I'm worried that they are using them as an alternative to creating new original content.
Perhaps I'm wrong, but I'm just getting a bad feeling. Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a great way to expand the game and give players more options, but I'd like to see new original things added to the game instead of constant holdings and reputations.
I guess I shouldn't complain or worry too much though. We did just get an ENTIRE faction added to the game with all the bells and whistles plus more. What do you think about fleet holdings and reputations?

Well, I a bit curious about the next Reputation as Cryptic claims it will be a " a major shift in how the reputation system rewards players, taking into account much of the feedback and comments about the existing reps by adjusting the way project and reward structures are integrated, hopefully making it much more approachable than some of the previous systems." Maybe then introduce a Kit system, that we heard so many rumours about?
I share your worries about the Fleet holdings. However, the introduction of the Dilithium Mine was a smart move. I wonder, how many Fleets are sweating right now, to get it completed ASAP. I mean all those discounts are definitely worth it. I wonder, what the new Fleet Holding will be. One thing is for sure, it will have to be on par with the Mine. But how? By discounting another in-game currency? I doubt that. Why would it be? Maybe, we get an old fashioned Casino or another R&R facility? I for one, can't wait for details.

I hope the new reputation will be more fun, like the romulan was, with the mission unlocck, because i'm getting way tired of grinding mission I already grinded for an item *cough* nakura*cough*
well so far most of the innovation where great so i'll give them the benefit of the doubt without an hesitation. But I hope ti will be a rebuild of the crafting, I loved crafting but it's useless with the new sets.
I'm mostly looking forward to the 1000 days reward they are about to give romulan

Well, the last update did give us a really freakin' nice embassy and a shiny new planet to mess around on. As for the new holding, I have a hunch that Tac is right. However, I think it will most likely be Ferengi-controlled versus Vlugta (the mine) or Starfleet (The Embassy and Starbase). What would be really cool is if they would make the older two vanity ships (Tuffli and Scimitar) into fleet ships, which would still require us to buy at least one Fleet Mod from Cryptic. Also, are the 1000 day reward ships and the Zen ships really so overpowered that the Devs can't upgrade them for the fleet holdings?
