March 2011 Engineering Report
Captain's Blog Stardate 88822.57
Have you checked out the last Engineering Report from Cryptic? I must say I like everything in it. The first thing I must say that I am really looking forward to is the Delta Flyer crafting mission. I tested it out on Tribble and it seems a bit tedious, but having a Delta Flyer at the end is probably worth it. I think it takes about 10 days in order to craft it. A few weeks ago I made a thread in the STO forums about Cryptic designing a common shuttle interior in order for us to have access to mission replay when we are flying our shuttles. Well, I am happy to say they are working on it. If you haven't seen the screen shot yet here it is http://yfrog.com/h8wmgbcj. There is also talk of a brand new tutorial for both the Federation and Klingon factions, which I am really excited about. I was never a huge fan of the Federation tutorial and I always felt the Klingons deserved their own. Another thing I am excited about is the fact that Cryptic will be removing the Off-Duty costume slot and just combine all costumes together. I am assuming this means we'll be able to mix and match off-duty and on-duty costume pieces, but I'm not 100% sure. There is just so too much in the Engineering Report that I can't wait to see in game. I could spend another hour just typing away my thoughts, so I'll give all of you a chance instead. I like a lot of the stuff on it except one thing...Bajoran Security uniforms. This is Starfleet, why would we be wearing Bajoran uniforms?

The only thing that I can think of is Bajoran officers serving on Starfleet ships. Also I know these uniforms were requested by members of the community at one time so that is also why we are getting them in game.

@Attilio, but Bajorans in Starfleet wear Starfleet uniforms. Why would anyone want that ugly thing anyways

Ugly or not, that's just a matter of opinion. Now I didn't say that Bajoran officers would be serving in Starfleet, I said they would be serving on a Starfleet ship. Basically the same thing as DS9. On the show the Bajoran officers weren't a part of Starfleet, but they were working together.
You can also compare this to the Diplomatic Corps in game. Once you reach Ambassador you get a KDF officer who wears the KDF uniforms, not Starfleet uniforms.
