Happy New Years!!!

Well 2012 is just about over with 2013 in reach, and may I say it's been a great year. A lot has happened in Star Trek Online from the game becoming free to play all the way to the release of New Romulus. While not all of Cryptic's decisions have been popular with players, I think we can all agree that the game has truly progressed and improved.

I feel it is only appropriate to talk about some of my favorite memories and releases of STO this year. I'd like to start with free to play. I was a huge supporter of it from the moment Cryptic announced it and I must say it was a great decision by them. Free to play has brought hundreds of new Captains to the Star Trek universe and has made this game grow.

Fleet starbases! This has to be my top favorite release this year for STO. Being the leader of the STO Academy fleet I have found that this starbase brought my fleet closer together and given us a great place to socialize. I'd like to say that I am truly proud of this fleet. It has become something I never expected or even dreamed of. This fleet is definitely the greatest thing to have happened to me in STO.

My newest favorite thing for this game... it'll have to be the new "On Screen" series that Cryptic is putting together. I think it's a great way to keep players in the loop and it feels much more personal than reading a developer's blog.

Great times are ahead of us with plenty of new memories to make. As always, leave your comments below. I want to know your favorite parts of 2012.

Yes, it has been a fantastic year. I play STO since it became F2P and I didn't regret it. In fact, I love it. And despite some ups and downs, I love that MMO-Game so much, that I even upgraded to Life-time subscription (LOL, so much for commitment and dedication).
But most important, I found a real home in the game by joining the STO Academy Fleet.
I really am looking forward to 2013 and can't wait for the stuff, that Cryptic will have in store for us.

I joined at F2P and not regretted it, and have supported the game with c store purchases. I don't get to play as much as I used to with my new job, but am going to try to be more active within the fleet in the new year. Some of my 2012 highlights include "The Return of the 2800" featured episode 'New Romulus' and am currently enjoying Qs Winter Wonderland. Things I'd like to see in 2013 is some familiar faces from the series pop up now and again, a bit like when Morn returned to Quarks.
