The last episode of the 2800 is out... the series is over. Make sure you take advantage of the limited time reward you can get from the final mission. Its the Shard of Possibilties which creates two temporary clones of yourself that help in combat. Now we can look forward to the next series. We have a poll going on in the forums, check it out and vote on who you think the next enemy will be http://forum.stoacademy.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=223.

The new flag ships (Oddysey and Bortasqu') were released this week. I tested them both on Tribble and the consoles that come with them are really nice. If you are one of the lucky few who buys all three ships, try putting all 3 consoles onto one ship. You get some added bonuses, plus you can use all three abilities. I really like the ship and the consoles, I just don't like the price. 2000 C-Points for each or 4000 for all three is A LOT. I understand that these are supposed to be the flagships, but the price is a little outrageous. By the way, both bridges look really good. I posted some screenshots on our forums http://forum.stoacademy.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=222.

I think the game is heading in the right direction. Even though Cryptic has been releasing a lot of stuff in the C-Store, I believe they are dedicated to the game and really want to make it a true Trek experience (or at least as close as possible). I'm looking forward to qhat Cryptic has in store for us in the coming months. I also really hope they start working on the Romulan faction and release it by the end of 2013. Of course I prefer they complete they complete the Klingon faction first. I am dying for a full KDF experience lol.

What are you're expectations for STO?

I agree with you to a certain extent about the C-Store prices for the new flagships. On the other hand, if I had to choose between 2000 C-Points for one of the new ships or 2000 C-Points for the old Dreadnaught (with its Mk VIII weapons and equipment) I'd pick the Odyssey/Bortas every time. I actually thought the three-for-the price-of-two deal was smart marketing. Sure, you can only fly one at a time and the others will fill up your available ship slots very quickly, but what you are actually paying for is the chance to get set of really useful sounding consoles. From Cryptic's standpoint, it not only generates sales of C-Points up front ($50.00 worth to buy the set), but it encourages players to buy additional ship slots to make room for the new ships. Also, if you want to fit out the flagships with the latest and greatest weapons, consoles and equipment, you need to generate Dilithium to pay for those items, and the quickest way to generate Dilithium is to buy C-Points and then sell them on the Dilithium Exchange. As for me, I'll stick with my free Odyssey (at least for now).

Live long and prosper,
