Mirror Mirror

Warning! If you have not played through the tutorial with your Delta Recruit then you may want to stop here. When do we get to face off against our mirror counterpart? It is clear that Cryptic has the ability to duplicate our characters, just look at the Shard of Possibilities and our future self in this Delta event. So why hasn't this been applied to some sort of mirror universe story?

Actually, after seeing our future self as an NPC I recalled thinking back to when the Shard of Possibilities was released. At the time I thought it was really cool and assumed it was Cryptic's way of testing the waters for a possible mirror universe story. Obviously that never happened, but now this story has brought those thoughts to the surface again.

Here's my suggestion. We continue investigating the Iconians and realize that while we know their reach extends to all parts of Milky Way and other galaxies, it also extends into the Mirror Universe. They have influenced events there which is what caused the Terran Empire to attack us. During a new story arc which reveals all this, we encounter our mirror selves (cue ominous music).

Maybe we are enemies at first but eventually convince them that the Iconians are the real threat and join forces with ourselves against the Iconians to conclude the story. It could be a nice 3-5 episode arc that explores the Iconians, the mirror universe, and our counterpart's history. Share your thoughts in the comments below!

I would love to kill myself! That being said I think you are on to something. Fingers crossed that Cryptic can have your same sense. :)

Suggestion for the Iconnian/Mirror universe.

Part of the Iconian story that bugs be is that Picard and Riker discuss that the Iconians were defeated by a union of all their enemies and thus history being written by the victors will be written to cast them as villains, but probably weren't.

OK so I suggest that the Iconians of this universe were highly advanced, had a vast empire and were at worst benevolent think Vorlons in that they were so above everyone they seemed aloof, and their empire fell after they extended themselves too far and trusted the use of their technology to the wrong groups that wished power for themselves.

This would line up with the mirror universe in that their Iconians would be warlike, keeping 'lesser' races under thumb, and they would have survived the revolution as they would have held more secrets and certainly technology. Being more warlike they would have had not thought of sacrificing themselves for lesser species, they could have gone into hiding sacrificing their thralls to save themselves.

Since Time travel is involved, I dare to venture an opinion:

We will go back in time to supplement the forces who tried to eradicate the Iconians 200,000 years ago in order to get the Job done this time..... only to find out, that we are/were the attackers in the first place.

screw the temporal prime directive, lets make a paradox and kill the iconians, then do it again, it is the order of things
