More Romulan Info
Captain's Blog Stardate 90890.9
Well we've surely been given a lot of information this week about the Legacy of Romulus expansion. To be honest, I'm not sure if I mean that sarcastically or not. We were given information, but a lot of it is back story. The last piece of news that really excited me was the types of Romulan warbirds we'll be able to fly. While it doesn't seem like we'll get our hands on a Scimitar, there will be a new type of ship which looks interesting.
The other bit of news is the new reputation that we'll be getting called Nukara Strikeforce Reputation. We'll have to earn Tholian marks and make our way through this reputation to earn new rewards. Some of these rewards are new ground and space sets, Anti-Tholian weapons, "Refracting" Tetryon space weapons, combat and vanity pets, and other things. It is nice to see Cryptic expanding on the reputation and its definitely giving us a whole new way to play this game.
Speaking of reputation, what do you think of the Events reputation? A way to complete projects and earn rewards by doing certain events (such as the Crystalline Catastrophe event). I think it's a great idea. Cryptic could hold many types of events and provide rewards through this reputation. It's a great way to promote revamped missions such as Crystalline Catastrophe or give people a reason to participate in things such as the Winter event. Seems like a nice addition.
The last bit and (at least for me) not so exciting bit of information is the history of Empress Sela. There was a dev blog this week which gave the back story about her, and basically it's everything we already know from the game. She's here to take over the Romulan empire and destroy everyone blah blah blah. Sorry if I seem a bit bored with this, but it's things we've known about for a while. Still, it's probably something you should read just in case you've missed some of her back story from the game.
So that's basically it from this week. For those who haven't heard, I'm pretty sure I read that we can test the entire expansion about 2 weeks before it is officially released. Don't quote me on that because I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that's what I read. If anyone knows for certain and has a source please post it in the comments. Official release date for the expansion is May 21st.

While I'm excited to get rewarded for already having the MkXII Crystalline Shell Set, I wonder how many Reputation System will be added in the future. Maybe Cryptic should think about converting all those Marks into simple Reputation Marks. I think that would make it easier. Besides that, I really can't wait for Stardate 90991. :)

I bet the Scimitar will be available through the C store as a VA ship-
I can't think what other high end ships on the romulan side would garner as much money.
(I think a tier 5 version of the Mogai Heavy Warbird will also be a big seller... I would think it would be out in that tier as the Valdore class?)

Never have even seen that Crystalline Shell set so I have no idea what I'm missing there. On the other hand, it would be nice for Nukara Prime to become much more interesting in terms of use for the missions there.
Looking forward to dishing out a little disruptor damage from a Mogai myself.

I just hope that Nakura will not be the only way to get Rep point. it's already slow for OM at 60-90 per mission (STF) imagine at 5-10 like you get on Defera's invasion.

They haven't finalized the Tholian Rep system yet, but they said that most likely any mission involving the Tholians will reward Tholian Rep points. So I would assume Azure Nebula, Crystalline Catastrophe, The Vault Ensared, etc.

Just discovered the pre-order Ad for the Legacy Pack. I don't know about you, but I won't spend 120 EUR for 8 Starships, 1 Scorpion Fighters, several Costumes, Races and some Lock Box Keys. I would maybe, if I had a chance to test the Romulans on Tribble yet.

That price is for a limited time, eventually it'll go up to the full price for the bundle so it will always be available. I'm planning on buying it simply because I know I'll be playing through the Romulan faction and having those ships could be nice/useful. Supposedly more info on these (and maybe all) ships will come out tomorrow.
