My STO Wish List
Captain's Blog Stardate 93131.62
Every so often I think about what I'd like added to STO. With the addition of the Armada system a good number of items from my wish list have been added - yay! There are still a number of features that I'd like to see which I feel are very important to the health of the game.
I need to start with the Foundry first because its a huge part of the game. They already did something amazing by showing a few foundry missions when you fly up to each system, and by adding a whole bunch of new systems. The problem is that there are a bunch of Foundry features which are lacking. I haven't used it in a while but I'm willing to bet that custom interiors, import/export costumes, and lights that actually emit light still don't exist. That's just a few things that I can think of right now.
Probably the biggest thing missing from this game is "to boldly go where no man has gone before". I've most likely talked about this too much, but that's because it is something we really need. As I understand it, Cryptic wants to end the Iconian story in the near future, which is fine by me. Can they please give us a storyline that involves exploring uncharted space and encountering new and hostile aliens there? Maybe they can send us on our own 5 year mission... although it would probably be much shorter. Star Trek has always been about human nature and only used combat to drive the story forward, not the other way around. Let's get back to this!
Lastly, and I think most people will agree to this, we need more cross-faction features. It has gotten to the point where almost everything should be cross-faction and the biggest reason is to push more social interactions. I'm willing to guarantee that the number of players who actively play in each faction would even out if they knew they could join a fleet with their friends from a different faction.

something to ponder on, add / play as the Maquis ...

Since the Maquis has been practically eradicated by the Dominion, I doubt CBS would approve.
However, I find the idea of non-aligned Privateers worth investigating.

Over all I'm pretty happy with STO. The only things on my wishlist are cross faction fleets and something being done to make more fleet stuff worth using again.

Looks like I got part of my wish. With the change to the dmg mod fleet weapons are useful again.
