Season 8 Review
Captain's Blog Stardate 91485.7
Now that everyone has had time to play around with Season 8 and all the shiny new things in it, I'd like to know what you all think. Of course I have my opinions to share otherwise this won't be much of a blog! The problem is, where do I begin?
I guess I'l start with what I don't like, and that's the maps for the Dyson sphere. Maybe I'm just not used to them but they don't seem to be very clear. The ground map for the battlezone is so much nicer, cleaner, and overall better!
Which brings me to the ground battlezone. I love how you can beam down and work with everyone to take over the entire zone, one section at a time until you have complete control. Then it resets and you can start all over! Sounds like madness but it's really fun.
The entire space zone (all 3 of them) is pretty fun also. There are a huge variety of missions you can pick up by just flying around. The environment looks amazing with the city below you and being able to see the rest of the sphere all around you.
Now I need to talk about my most favorite part of Season 8 and that's The Breach. It's a new 5 man PvE mission which I think is so much fun. Being able to fly along a large ship, then inside it, just feels amazing. The funny thing is that it's so simple and really no different than anything else, especially The Vault, but something about it is fun. Maybe because it reminds me of Star Wars when they flew along/inside the Death Star.
In the comments below share your thoughts about Season 8. What are your likes and dislikes of it?

I've really enjoyed Sphere of Influence and Season 8. I like the addition to the storyline, (in that things are moving forward-)
I also like Breach and the battleground, but I haven't 'stormed the spire' yet.
What I don't like is that some of the story seems to be missing.
It would have been nice to have a several 'featured episodes' to describe the initial encounters with the Voth...
Another example of missing story; I was fighting in the allied zone, and had to fight some Iconian Probes.
What exactly does that mean? Did the Voth reprogram them? Are the Iconians taking some direct action in the Sphere?
Granted, I did just complete Tier 1 Dyson rep, and I think it unlocked a mission. (But I haven't done it yet. Perhaps that will answer some questions.)

Chris, I believe the Iconian probes and swarmers attack you and the Voth. I know for a fact the ground swarmers attack Voth troops as well as any player

The Breach is AWESOME and it reminded me of Star Wars instantly. On my very first Run, I was humming music from Return of the Jedi all the time.
What bothers me a little bit is the fact, that I can't seem to get into the Voth Zone. Anyone knowing how to do that?

the breach is a lot of fun.
Swarmers/Iconian probes are the sphere's internal defense systems.
The story is told through cut-scenes attached to the new reputation faction.
