Ship Interiors
Captain's Blog Stardate 89148.23
Lately I've been hearing a lot of discussion about ship interiors and I was wondering, what exactly does the STO community expect from it? Right now our ship interiors only have two functions: access mission replay or switch between main ship and shuttle craft. That's fine and all but I think we want more. First of all, to switch to a shuttle we need to visit our transporter rooms and speak with an officer in there. I'm kind of surprised Cryptic didn't implement a shuttle bay, they do have one from a mission map. I think this should be the next update to interiors, a working shuttle bay. Aside from that some people want to have the ability to heal officers in their sick bay instead of having to visit a starbase. I completely agree with this because that's exactly what sickbay is for! Another idea I've heard about is to have a mini-game which allows players to repair their ships. That sounds like an interesting idea and I think Cryptic should look into it. All this of course is for people who play on the higher difficulty settings. Probably the most requested feature is to be able to pilot your ship from the bridge instead of going through sector space. I have to be honest, I would love to see this. If anyone has played Star Trek Bridge Commander then you know what I'm talking about. Something I think really needs to be implemented is a working replicator. I can understand accessing it while in sector space and not being able to access it on ground maps, but inside my ship I should be able to visit the mess hall and use a replicator. What would you like to see inside your ship?Written by Attilio on July 18, 2011 at 12:01 am

I couldn't agree more, especially with being able to command your starship from the bridge. I spent a lot of my childhood playing Bridge Commander - giving commands for my officers to follow, it gave you a sense of leadership and responsibility and it would be incredible if cryptic did the same thing with STO.
Optional like the new ground combat so if you prefer the original style you can use that instead.

Here, here! I agree with all the proposals above. I am a lifer. One of the suggestions above was bridge command. "Hey, I made a funny". I played BC for years and loved the idea of being able to pilot from there. It gives the illusion that you are in command of your ship. I also would love to be able to fly one of my shuttles outside my ship to inspect damage and then dock with my ship personally. After all, STO has our money and fan base. They should listen to our suggestions and keep the game fresh. I have noticed that the interest is waning greatly.

I totally agree with you and have played bridge commander myself. Plus I would like to do things within my ship. I have elite force one and two and in that game ya can walk around your ship and do things like pisst off janeway buy hitting the red alert console or go to picard ship and work with bercley in engineer to save picard ship. Plus in elite force one ya can even go to the mess hall to see what cooking or even chase 7 of 9 around the ship and have her chat to ya. That was why I love star trek so much, Ya can watch the tv shows or the movies and then later on go to your game to relive it again in the game world.

I have play and enjoyed many games of star trek. Star trek judgement Rites was just one of them long before bridge commander.
I feel the ship interior need to be used more period. How about the Bridge Conference room for example. we know in the shows that where the officers can find out about a mission in detail and state your options about it.
I have not tried a harder lever in game but it be cool have a sickbay on board our ship's. I would be willing to try a higher level then.
after all when someone sick or injured they didn't run to star base sick bay in the sow. they went to Dr. Mccoy, or Dr. crusher, ect.

originally when I started toying with Foundry. I was hoping to create a mission where we can race around the ship interior.
I was thinking something like Star Trek The Next Generation episode where Troi was on the bridge when the ship was badly damage.
I think our Captain's could be in there ready room when new mission comes in from star fleet. I think there should be a mini game called battle drill to test our crew reaction's. Basicly I just want to be able to do more on the ship.

I would like to see the ability to play poker for energy credits in the lounge. You can play with friends or versus computer. I mean if we can play dabo what's to stop that. I think it would add to the realism.

I think they want to add poker, they just haven't had a chance to start programming it.
