STO Gateway and Season 7

Did you hear about this new STO Gateway? Its a website for your computer, smartphone, and tablet that will retrieve your STO information. It seems very basic for now since it shows your character, equipment, bridge officers, ship, etc. but according to the dev blog, more features will be coming. I'm sure many people (including myself) would like to see a duty officer feature added so that we can manage our duty officer assignments outside of the game. I would really like a feature to manage in game mail as well. I'm sure as time passes we'll be seeing many new and interesting features that will just enhance our STO experience both in and out of the game. Right now it is only available for Tribble users, so if you want to check it out then head over to http://gatewaytest.startrekonline.com
With that bit of news taken care of, it is time to move on to Season 7! We are so close to it and I can't wait! This past week it was released on Tribble for testing. I took a look at some of the features and I like what I've seen so far. The new Reputation system for players is essentially the same thing as the fleet starbase system. The biggest difference is that you aren't building a starbase, but instead you are strengthening your character.
A new fleet holding is also released which is the Romulan Embassay. It works the same way as the starbase, and you can easily swich back and forth between the two. I look forward to seeing what fleet holdings are availabel in the future. Unfortunately Cryptic hasn't opened up the new sector yet so I can't talk much about that or what the Embassay looks like. Maybe for next week's blog it will be released and I'll touch a bit on that.

I got news about the STO Gateway via Facebook and tried it at once. It is a nice feature, that is indeed a little basic for now.
Into the Hive rocks and the Reputation system is really interesting. All in all, I can't wait for Season 7 to be released on Holodeck Server.

Thanks for the heads up about the Tribble testing of Season 7. I had been looking for something on the STO website, but hadn't seen anything as of last time I looked.
I'll definitely check it out at my first opportunity.
