Stormbound Review

Captain's Blog Stardate 93495.48

"Stormbound" has arrived! It is the second episode in "A New Dawn" and continues the story from "Sunrise". I've already enjoyed both episodes because they have the perfect combination of story and combat. Although I do have a couple of... let's call them issues. Warning, spoilers ahead.

For starters, the tie-in to the Temporal Cold War and the Tox Uthat is pretty cool. I've always been a fan of stories that connect two separate (yet similar) plots together in fun and intriguing way. Frankly, I'm a little sad that the Tox Uthat hasn't played a bigger role. It introduced us to Kal Dano, who I enjoyed as a character and wanted to learn more about. I was disappointed at his demise; however this is a time travel story so we may meet him again.

It also brought the Tholians into the fold and started us down the path of the Temporal Cold War. This means we'll probably see more of the Suliban as well as the Vorgon. Does this mean we'll eventually find out who that mysterious man was that gave the orders to the Suliban? I sure hope so!

"Stormbound" is definitely a good episode to play. At some points the story felt a little hollow, but I'm going to assume that to prevent us from having to read paragraphs of information they tried to condense the dialog. Other than that I really don't have anything to complain about. I look forward to being more involved in the Temporal Cold War and time travel. A part of me hopes we'll get to meet some more iconic Star Trek characters as we did during the Iconian War.

What did you think of "Stormbound" and are you excited for upcoming episodes?

The only thing I'm worried about is the same mistake Star Trek made -- that it all started involving Time Travel. There's been an awful lot of that in the latest episodes, and it gets old.

Other than that, we had some glitches and had to start over, but it was pretty good once it worked.

Overall I liked the episode.

**Spoilers**

BUT-
Why couldn't we use the Tox Uthat to fix the Sun for the N'guys before hiding it in the past!?!?
I was thinking, Kal, we can't hide it yet! We need to help these guys!

Tholian ship combat was pretty neat, and I wonder if they will update the bridge for Tholian ships.
The Tholians themselves seemed weaker then they normally are(even the captain.) Often Tholians are more of a challenge, especially in EV suits.

PS: Nice to see the same captain on that timeship from Temporal Ambassador-
