Temporal Lock Boxes

Captain's Blog Stardate 90354.55

Now that the Temporal Lock Boxes are out I need to say one thing... they are the best lock boxes we have seen so far. In all fairness, I say that because we get seven new ships and two new shuttles, all of which I feel are pretty good. To be honest, I haven't really cared for the look of the mirror ships. I think the design isn't very pretty.

The new temporal ships and their mirror counterparts are a whole different story. All four ships look AMAZING! Even the temporal shuttles look really good. What I am really a fan of is the Tipler Cylinder which is a console that lets you rewind time by 13 seconds. Essentially it regenerats your hull and puts you in the position you were 13 seconds ago. This sort of lets you do over the previous 13 seconds so you can do things differently. About to die? Use the Tipler Cylinder!

Have any of the ships interested you? I'm sure most of you would love to get your hands on that Wells class. Personally, I'd like to get the Mobius Temporal Destroyer. So let's hear it! What are your thoughts on the temporal lock boxes and which ship would you like to get, if any?

I have tried the well's ship and it is fun. I maxed it out with the new temporal set and the console from the Mobius. It is fun. I have been fiddling with my layouts and threw in some chroniton torpedoes to fit with the theme and the set bonus.

Anyway...

As i opened boxes on my personal quest to get the ferengi set for all my toons, i happened to open two more temporal boxes. So if you wanted to run some contest for our fleet or had spotted someone you think could use a "thank you" gift for service beyond the call; im very happy to donate it to you.

I agree, that these are the best Lock Boxes yet. When I heard of the Tipler Cylinder I was like "What?". I mean it sounded like the "Omega 13" from GalaxyQuest. However, I invested 50 Euros for Lock Keys, but what I got was rather disappointing: 261 Lobi Crystals, 14 Gamma Quadrant DOff Mini-Packs, 11 Standard DOff Mini-Packs, 2 Temporal DOffs and other rather useless stuff. I should have sold the Keys and bought the Temporal Science Vessel from the Exchange instead.

The first ship I got from a lock box cost 50$ worth of keys. I wont do that again. I feel stupid for doing it the first time. it is gambling.

I recently got the Mirror Deep Space Science Vessel and while I wasn't overly impressed with the looks, I did like the general idea of the ship. It combines the survivability of the Trident with the manoeuvrability of the Luna.

I found it very impressive when compared with the mirror cruisers in previous boxes.

Nah, I'm not impressed. It seems the only way to get new ships is via the lock box lottery. No thanks, I think I just need to move on to another game.

I'm glad to hear that the new lock boxes have some decent rewards in them. For me, the idea of investing a ton of Zen in buying keys so I can, maybe, get a ship and, maybe, it will be one that I actually want is not appealing. On the other hand, the fact that the Temporal Lock Boxes are selling at high prices on the Exchange tells me that someone out there really likes them. I remember when the earlier lock boxes were listed on the Exchange at 20 boxes for 1 EC and nobody was buying them. Obviously, Cryptic has learned from its past experience, and that's a good thing. Also, many people are enjoying their new ships, or making small fortunes selling them on the Exchange, and that too is a good thing.

I wont gamble on any more ships it cost me quite a bit to get my recluse carrier and i feel these ships should be put up on the c store for everyone to enjoy.

The boxes make far too much money for them ever to be put in the C-store. Think about it, i bought 2 life time accounts within 2 weeks of joining the game so where do they get more money out of me? The C-store has a few things worth buying but again once you have them... As for the lockboxes i think they squeezed $800.00 out of me this run so far. I have honestly lost count for anything before the temporal boxes. So it is a real money maker and game saver because if they are not making money the game will die.
The rarity is also an issues. We dont want too many flying around. When it comes down to it i prefer the fleet versions of the ships and just fly the box ones for fun. Now the D'Kora is a great PVE ship, now doubt about that. Everything at your fingertips except crafting and you can always get a freighter for that. Or just ask for a bridge invite. As for the prize in the box, i will be giving a wells ship away in a few days. So right a "Lockbox Liimerick" if you want to enter my silly personal contest.
Most importantly, i cant stress this enough, this is an AWESOME website. Thank you Attilio for for making such and enduring and useful website. You Rock!!!
