Who Would You like to See?

Captain's Blog Stardate 93265.66

It's no secret that Star Trek Online is full of races and characters. Cryptic has been constantly adding them, especially since the Iconian War story picked up speed. As you may know by now, the next Season will see the end of the Iconian war and the start of a whole new adventure and most likely new characters and races.

The question I'm heading towards is, which races and/or characters would you like to see in Star Trek Online? I'm going to make it a bit tougher and say that you can only pick one race and one character. I'll kick things off.

One of my favorite Star Trek episodes is "Darmok" from The Next Generation. It introduced us to a new races, the Tamarians, who I found to be incredibly interesting. It was incredible to watch Captain Picard interact with Dathon, be suspicious and eventually learn how to communicate and become friends. What has happened since then? Have the Tamarians become part of the Federation? If so, how do we communicate? Have we developed a universal translator algorithm to help us talk to them? I always felt that they should have been explored more as a races and Star Trek Online is the perfect venue for it.

Keeping in line with The Next Generation, I would love to see Patrick Stewart reprise his role as Jean-Luc Picard. As a matter of fact, in a recent interview he believes it is possible to one day reprise the role but thinks it is unlikely. Patrick Stewart please come to STO! Picard would only be 105 years young. Leonard McCoy was 137 when TNG started so I'm sure Picard is still around, probably acting as a diplomat on Vulcan or somewhere else in the Federation. I think he would be the perfect candidate to help out in this new galaxy we're creating/exploring after the devastation of the Iconian war.

Now you know what to do in the comments! Remember you can choose a race and/or character but only one of each.

I'd like to see Picard serving as the diplomatic envoy to the Ba'ku! We could visit the planet and see Picard and Anij.
(Perhaps even the evil Son'a would make another appearance?)

Otherwise I'd like to see them do something with the race home-worlds. Ferenginar, the Lyran and Kazinti home-worlds (well, the Caitian and Ferasan home-worlds, as that is how they are called in this game.)

Actually, it would be interesting to have a few eps about the cat races, to see how they fit in, and give them a place in the STO universe.

There are many races that I would like to see added to the game, but I still think that there is more Breen & Cardassian storylines to be told. It seems that these two powerful cultures have sadly been forgotten about. I would like to see Admiral Ryker (Johnathon Frakes)& Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis) added to the game these two mixed with Wulf could make many a storyline :)

I'd like to see the Efrosians make an appearance. These were the long white haired aliens. Both the Federation President and Saratoga helmsman belonged to this race, in the original Star Trek movies. They have never been seen again, on TV or other movies, to my knowledge.

As far as characters, I'd like to see Kelsey Grammar reprise his role as Captain Morgan Bateson. He originally appeared in the TNG episode "Cause and Effect". By this point in history, he would probably be an Admiral.

I would love to see Admiral Riker make his appearance in STO! He should be about 75 in 2410! Frakes was always one of my favourite ST actors.

Not sure about what species i'd like to see. I want to say a fully fleshed out Cardassian storyline and revamp but I feel everyone says that.

Character, though is easy. If you read the lore, you'll see Data is still alive and kicking. Let's have Brent Spiner do some VO!
