In his encounter with Kirk's Enterprise, Balok used an animatronic puppet based on an especially intimidating Gallamite instructor from his youth.

The Aqurosians were once a very violent species. Their constant wars destroyed nearly all the land on their world. With little land left they became peaceful with their own race and turned to genetic engineering in order to allow the entire race to live in both water and on land. Today they keep their violent ways and have mostly become mercenaries for hire.

The Trivit hail from Trivia Prime, a heavily-forested, resource-rich planet in the Cestus Sector. The Trivit have evolved to possess uncanny camouflage and will blend in with natural surroundings; their headpieces, for instance, will adapt to match the color of their uniforms. Their peculiar culture, often obsessed with secrecy and duplicity, reflects their biology. The Trivit are natural-born spies and, though they have been enslaved by the Gorn and continue to be forced to serve the Klingon Empire, as a people they have mounted a valiant underground resistance. There are many Trivit serving in Starfleet but, given their enslavement, it is far more common to find them serving aboard Klingon starships.
