The Combat Log Reader turns a raw Star Trek Online combat log into the stats and charts below. This page explains exactly what each one measures.
DPS is your total damage dealt divided by your own active time in the fight — from your first hit to your last, not the fight's full length. Joining late or finishing your target off early doesn't drag this number down the way dividing by the whole fight's duration would.
Peak DPS (5s) is the single best 5-second stretch of the fight, by average damage per second in that window — a read on your hardest burst, separate from your sustained average.
Total Damage is the sum of every hit you landed, hull and shield damage combined.
Max Hit is your single largest hit of the fight, and which ability landed it.
Crit Rate is the share of your attacks that landed as a critical hit.
Kills is how many killing blows the log credits to you.
Damage dealt per second, bucketed into 1-second intervals across the whole fight — useful for seeing where your damage came in bursts versus steady, sustained output.
Your damage broken down by ability, grouped by source. Direct is damage from your own weapons and abilities; any other group name is whatever the game itself logged as the source — a hangar pet, a summoned ally, or similar. Each ability also shows its own share of your total damage and its own crit rate.
Every hit sorted into one of four categories: Critical, Flank, Normal, or Miss. A hit that's both a critical and a flanking hit is counted once, as a critical, so the four categories always add up to your total number of attacks.
Your damage broken down by which enemy took it, along with hits landed and your max hit against that target. Only shown when the fight had more than one target.
If the log includes any healing, a separate Healing section repeats the same set of breakdowns — Healing Over Time, Healing by Ability, Heal Hit Breakdown, and Healing by Target — using the same active-time-based calculation as DPS, but for healing given instead of damage dealt. Healing yourself counts here, unlike damage, since topping off your own hull is real healing output.
If the log includes any incoming damage, a Damage Taken section repeats the same breakdowns again — Incoming Damage Over Time, Damage Taken by Ability, Incoming Hit Breakdown, and Damage Taken by Attacker — this time for damage done to you instead of by you.
When a log has more than one player, a Team tab combines everyone's numbers into one combined view, using the exact same breakdowns as an individual player's tab.
