These terms govern your use of STO Academy Build Planner (the "site"). By using the site, you agree to them. The site is operated by AV Innovation LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("we," "us"), as an unofficial, fan-made companion tool for Star Trek Online, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Cryptic Studios, Gearbox Entertainment, or CBS Studios Inc.
The site lets you plan a Star Trek Online build (skills, ships, equipment, bridge/duty officers, traits), optionally save it to an account, share it via a link, and contribute new content to a community-reviewed catalog. Game data, mechanics, and balance shown here are provided for planning convenience and may not always be accurate or current — always verify anything important against the live game.
You keep ownership of anything you create or submit — build names, notes, and content you propose for the community catalog. By saving, sharing, or submitting content, you give us permission to store it and display it back to you and, where you've chosen to make it public (a shared build link, your public profile, an approved catalog submission), to other users of the site.
You agree not to submit or share content that:
Community catalog submissions go through moderation — an automated filter plus review/approval by other signed-in users — before becoming part of the shared catalog. We can reject, remove, or edit any submission, and can restrict an account's ability to submit content or vote on others' submissions, at our discretion, including in response to the behavior described above.
Additional cloud build slots can be purchased through Stripe Checkout. All payment processing is handled directly by Stripe — we never receive or store your card details. Charges will appear on your card statement under AV Innovation LLC. Purchases grant additional cloud save capacity to your account and don't expire. If something goes wrong with a purchase, contact us at the address below and we'll work it out on a case-by-case basis.

You can delete your own account at any time from Account — this permanently removes your account, saved builds, and share links. We can suspend or restrict an account that violates these terms; we'll generally do this by limiting what the account can do (submit/vote) rather than deleting it outright, except in cases of serious or repeated abuse.
Star Trek Online game content and materials are trademarks and copyrights of Cryptic Studios, Inc., a Gearbox Entertainment Company, or its licensees, and are used with permission where applicable. Star Trek and related marks are trademarks of CBS Studios Inc. This site claims no ownership over any of it.
The site is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the game data it presents is complete or accurate. You use it at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including loss of saved build data. Keep your own backups (the local .stobuild export exists for exactly this) of anything you can't afford to lose.
We may update these terms from time to time; we'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute arising from them will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey.
